💭 Thoughts from This Week
Imago Dei: Worth That Isn’t Earned. At the turn of midnight and the new year began, it was quiet. The first minute of the new year and there was one absolute truth: I am created in His image. This thought was something that rarely crossed my mind as the clock struck midnight each new year. It is now the truth that I can settle on, because the promises that He made are the promises that He continues to keep. The new year often brings change, motivations, new direction, shifts, and so much more. Maybe it is a new routine, gym membership, or something that you are leaving in 2025. Whatever it may be that is changing for 2026, I can promise you this one truth. You bear the image of your creator. Nothing you did in 2025 or will do in 2026 will change this truth, remove this truth, or water it down. I hope that as you go into 2026 that you see just what this Imago Dei means for yourself, your family, your community, and most importantly your relationship with your Heavenly Father.
🧠 Mental Health Tip
Self-worth is something that is set in stone, not earned by anything that you do or missed by anything that you don't do. I often remind people that their worth is set in stone from the moment of conception. The weight of pressure that gets released from this is worth noting. When you find yourself unsure of your worth based on an external circumstance it is a warning sign that the external circumstance is the driving force of your positive or negative outlook. Shift that focus to inward truth, your worth was established the moment that God said, "I think the world needs one of her/him." External circumstances will change, your interpretation of them will go with the shifts. But your worth is something that is constant. You are an image bearer of the most high! Remind yourself of this: My self-worth goes beyond productivity. 📖 Scripture to Reflect On
Genesis 1:27 — So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
