Two Eighteen Weekly: 01/19/2026

“Weekly reflections and guidance to support and restore.”

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Two Eighteen Weekly! Each week, I’ll share thoughts from the week, mental health tips, scripture reflection, upcoming events, and resources to explore. If anything here resonates with you, one of the best ways to show support is to share it with someone else and encourage them to subscribe to He is for Me.

Let's get started!

💭 Thoughts from This Week

Before you do anything. Conditions come with almost everything these days. The box that you have to check to move on through most processes, agreeing to the conditions. The conditions of your job. I hate to say this but even the conditions of relationships. As much as we might all try to avoid conditions when it comes to relationships with each other, they occasionally show up. We are human. I am very grateful that conditions do not last in relationships, but I would be wrong to not say that they do not show up at all. While God does have a condition. His condition is unlike any other. Sure, He asks something of you, but after that you can trust in the truth that the condition ends there. And I might even go so far as to say that the condition is really just your part of the relationship and not His. What am I getting at? His love is unconditional, we put conditions on it. Eternity is conditional on accepting and knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But that's it. You cannot do anything to earn the love, eternity, and relationship with God. The conditions that we put on our own relationships are not what He puts. He wants a relationship with us and just asks us to acknowledge His son. The works or effort that comes with the relationship is not a condition of the relationship, rather it is a byproduct of the relationship. Believers do not work for their eternity, they work because of it. And I believe that is one of the most beautiful gifts that we have on this side of Heaven. Working because of the relationship with Christ, not to earn the relationship with Christ. This type of covenant relationship is only because God chose us. So before you do anything, you are chosen. Before you achieve anything you are chosen. Before you experience any type of worldly success, you are chosen.

🧠 Mental Health Tip

Anxiety around performance and outcomes is part of everyday life. It often shows up when we’re anticipating the future and can’t fully see how things will unfold. When anxiety rises, it can be helpful to ask: What is within my control? What is outside of my control?

Some level of anxiety is actually necessary. Anxiety is what activates our nervous system in moments that require protection or action. The challenge is that many nervous systems have been overstimulated, causing fight, flight, or freeze responses even when there is no true threat.

I often explain it this way:
With no anxiety, you wouldn’t look both ways before crossing the street.
With healthy anxiety, you look both ways and cross with caution.
With too much anxiety, you look both ways, see that it’s safe, and still don’t cross because “what if something happens?”

When anxiety shows up, and it is safe to do so, remind yourself to move into problem-solving mode rather than fight, flight, or freeze. 📖 Scripture to Reflect On

Ephesians 2:10—For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. This verse reminds us that our identity is prepared beforehand and not determined by achievement. This removes the anxiety in performance or outcomes. The outcomes that we may participate in because of our identity in Christ become choice instead of obligation. When anxiety about outcomes arises, remind yourself that your worth is set in Christ, not in your performance.
